About the space

POMAR Base sits at the middle of a fifteen-acre family apricot farm in the countryside between Olhão and Fuseta — three kilometres from the town, fifteen from Faro airport [source: pomar-coliving.com]. Five rooms, ten guests at capacity, which makes it small enough that one low-energy arrival changes the temperature of the whole house. There is a gym indoors, a jacuzzi and an ice bath outside, and fruit on the trees you are allowed to pick.

The setup, in principle

Every room comes with a monitor and an ergonomic chair, and the coworking spills through the house rather than living in one designated room — you end up rotating between indoor desks and whichever outdoor spot the sun has not yet ruined. The rhythm is set by a weekly community meeting and one POMAR family dinner; group workouts ran twice a week during the Q2 2026 stay because a guest organised them, not because the house did. Nothing is mandatory. In a house of ten, that distinction matters less than it sounds.

Neighbourhood

This is farmland, and the three kilometres to Olhão are three kilometres you have to solve — the market hall, the train station and the restaurants are all in town, and none of them are a stroll. A motorway opened alongside the property during the Q2 2026 stay; the noise reaches the terrace, brushes the roof, and does not get past the windows, which is a better result than anyone expected. Fuseta is the other direction, and worth the trip for the seafood.

Best for

Early risers with a gym habit, month-plus stays, people who want the farm rather than the promenade

Less good for

Anyone without a car who needs town daily, beach-first travellers, short samplers under two weeks
